After an unsigned coloured engraving
On 13 September 1807 Beethoven came to Eisenstadt to conduct the first performance of his Mass in C, written for Princess Maria Hermenegild's name-day. Cross the square, go through the gateway into the courtyard, and follow the harpsichord to the great hall where Haydn's orchestra played.
Drag on the left of the screen to walk, and on the right to look about.
The music drifting from the great hall is Haydn's Gott erhalte Franz den Kaiser (1797).
